Some of the most hideous posters in usenet history use their real
names though. Look at the minor nuisances we have on the guitar
groups: Valve and his understudies, Wereo/Scott, or Romeo Rose. They
all take great pride in their bad reps, so I can't imagine them not
wanting full credit. IMO, it's more about the person than the nym.

Yeah, but those people are all visibly mentally ill (that's not an insult,
it's an observation supported by voluminous evidence).

But the relatively nondescript "RS" seems cool cause it gets
Valvie in a lather.

Lardo once posted that I don't use my real name--if he doesn't like you it
doesn't matter if you sign your real name or not, he'll froth and sputter
either way.

Anyway, the original post could have been kind of funny if done in
good humor--the JJ grammar was a nice touch. But the vehement and rude
undertones put it way over the top.

It was trashy. It could have been funny if done with some restraint and a
lot more style, but as it was it read like something posted by a highschool
punk. It was also pointless, JJTj's own posts are (unintentionally) funny
enough by themselves, it's not necessary to go into the sewer to mock him,
quotations are more than enough.
