I was searching for information on TDPRI this morning and came across
a post by Pete Galati, who used to post here as PMG. I was happy to
see that, since I recall good conversations with Pete back when I used
to hang out here a lot (1995-2005). Then I noticed the letters R.I.P.
beneath his name.
That's a shame, especially at such a young age. Unlike so many a.g.a.
regulars he wasn't a soapbox ranter or on some weird ego trip, just seemed
like a regular guy, I wondered what had happened with him. Too bad there
aren't more like him instead of the psychos, drama queens and blowhards....
LOL.
It's nice for all of Pete's "friends" to finally notice
his absence after only a couple or three years...
Not fair Claude. Several of us asked, several times, but he had gone
to ground. He really was one of the good guys around this place.
I meant to add that if you did a search for him on AGA, you'd see that
people have asked about him a number of times over the years. Willie
and I had a conversation about people we didn't see here anymore about
a year ago - he was prominent on that list.
Scott - I'm grateful to you for telling us about this. Before Pete
left, he a had alluded to some health problems. I'm sure I wasn't the
only one who wondered about that. By the way, "It Works for Me" is now
on my DAUGHTER's iPod! You have crossed generations with that tune.
When I first started posting here - spring of 2000 I think, PMG was
one of the guys who actually welcomed me to the group. I appreciated
that. Not too long ago I went to the AGA pages just for the heck of it
- his was one of the profiles I read - and then I did a search, but
found almost nothing - certainly not the RIP post. But along the way I
spent an hour or so reading the archives. Fractious as this group
always was, it didn't turn toxic until about 2006. After that you see
very few of the old names. I got to the point where I quit coming too
- although I've been back several times recently. Maybe this was why...
