Thank God, the FAA have issued new guidelines planes carrying the
First Lady and the VP.  This incident earlier in the week could have
ended in tragedy.

With all due respect to the First and Second Ladies, what about us?
Controllers sleeping on the job, near misses piling up, etc.  Is this all
new or has it been kept under wraps until recently?  Is it some sort of
undeclared resistance action by the controllers in response to  --  what?

There's something unsaid here (but I don't know what it is).  The story as
it's come out so far doesn't hang together right, big picture wise.

It's not OK for lesser public servants to follow the sterling
example of VP Biden and sleep on the job? Why not?
Hmmm - you being the strict constructionist that I know you must be,
it should be OK for the VP to snooze because his role is pretty
limited according to the Constitution (and I know there's nothing
about sleeping on the job mentioned).
