'All over the park': Network's verdict on Glenn Beck after he is dropped from five radio stations

Glenn Beck was dropped from five of a radio network's stations because his show’s content was damaging ratings and he is ‘sort of all over the park from time to time’.
Buckley Radio announced it will pull the controversial presenter’s show from four stations in Connecticut because it is 'inconsistent' and has become too religious.
He will be replaced by two local personalities - and this comes after the chain’s flagship New York station, WOR Radio, replaced him with a local host in January.
‘He bounces around pretty radically, I think he confuses people, they're not sure where he is coming from,’ said Rick Buckley, president of Buckley Radio in Connecticut.
'It can change day to day, hour to hour. Consistency is, I think, the path to success in broadcasting, in radio for sure, whether it be music or talk,’ he told Media Matters.
‘Glenn is sort of all over the park from time to time.’
He has announced Mr Beck’s programme will be pulled from WDRC-AM, WWCO-AM, WSNG-AM and WMMW-AM in Connecticut, which simulcast his morning show.
‘Some of his direction has changed over the last year and a half,’ Mr Buckley said. ‘He is preaching a lot more than entertaining.'
Mr Buckley was concerned about Mr Beck’s shows taking a more religious tone over the last six months, which ‘didn't do well here in the East’.
But Mr Beck's show will remain on one of Buckley Radio’s stations - KNZR-AM in Bakersfield, California.
Mr Buckley said the WOR change in New York came about after a two-year trial period that did not get the ratings the company expected.
Buckley Radio owns 17 stations in three states and was started by Mr Buckley’s father in the 1950s, reported Media Matters.
Meanwhile, the controversial presenter is not expected to have his contract renewed by Fox News after 2011 and is now considering starting up his own cable channel.
