Great jem of a quotation from the author of "How to Drive Fast on Drugs While Getting Your Wing-Wang Squeezed and Not Spill Your Drink", Wilburrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I enjoy P.J. O'Rourke's writing, met him once and was able to yak with him for a few minutes, very nice guy. Of course O'Rourke uses plenty of hyperbole in his arguments, partly for comic effect, partly to get his readers riled up. He also turns the tables on his readers often, writing things that he no doubt knows will upset people who think he will agree with him, e.g. his often quoted line about how Republicans insist government doesn't work and prove it every time they get elected. One thing you have to remember is O'Rourke earned his stripes with National Lampoon magazine and his instincts are always to go for a laugh. So it's risky quoting him with too much confidence, as there's a good chance he wrote the exact opposite in another book. For a libertarian of sorts O'Rourke is quite realistic, he isn't one of these right-wingnut kool-aid drinkers although right-wingnut kool-aid drinkers like Wide-load Willie love to quote him. If O'Rourke wanted to run for Congress he'd have my support, but he's probably too smart for that.

Well, yeah, *I* get that, but I'll bet ya Willie ("any port in a storm") doesn't.
