In a related matter (and, incidentally, a nice comeback to Lord Valve's little tirade in which he likened a publisher's "Disnefying" of Huck Finn to the Soviet Union's excising material "found to be inconvenient to the State"), Republicans, in their touted reading of the U. S. Constitution on the House floor, inexplicably excised certain "inconvenient" clauses from the reading:
Ummm, "inconvenient" translates to "amended", so why would they read portions that have in effect been removed and no longer have the force of law? The 13th and 14th Amendment did away with that 3/5 thing, it might be history, but it's not the law of the land.
