Two of the men now being denied
coverage for (admittedly costly)
procedures are the fathers of
young children -- Governor
Brewer cited "other budget
priorities," which apparently
include a multi-million $$
state-financed study of algae.
In the absence of an "easy
solution," one is left with
hard choices -- and sometimes
choices that aren't really all
that hard.

I'm guessing that the Governor has different health coverage. A law giving legislators the same coverage as Medicaid recipients would probably see some significant changes.

But you can extend that to absurd degrees. Shall we close down everything non-essential the govt. does until every last person has all the medical care possible? No museums, no libraries, no arts--everything goes on the back burner until we have universal health care and only then can we spend money on things that don't directly keep people alive. I'm not sure we'd ever find enough money.
