Whether or not you care for the Dead's music, they sure explored the science
of live audio in a way probably no other band did. The Wall Of Sound, damn,
that's taking it to the limit and some way beyond.
Ever heard of Phil Spector dumb ass?
Ever hear of Stan Kenton, welfare-boy? Oh, I forgot, you don't listen to jazz. What was it you said once, something about what a shame it is that so many good players waste their talents on jazz.... You're a real genius, Jaypee.
Phil Spector's wall of sound was a collection of studio techniques for making recordings. But if you could read above a fifth-grade level you'd have noticed I said "live audio"--and that brings us to the most advanced live sound setup in the world at the time, the Grateful Dead's 75-ton Wall Of Sound PA which sounded like a really good hi-fi that just happened to be big enough to fill an arena with crystal-clear sound.
Always a day late and a dollar short, the story of Jaypee's life.
