The manual clearly states "8ohms".
since it is a Solid State amp, there is a certain or even a llikely danger that you might exceed the thermal limits of the output stage if you have it working into a 4Ohm load.
Only Peavey knows the safety margins, but
i'd expect them to be close to what the manual indicates.
Especially with a bass amp, you WILL drive it with all it can deliver.
I would not try it. If you try, please report the results
