Preamp? If so, a few years back when I did my "blind taste test" of preamp tubes in V1 of the Marshall 2204, the Ei came in second to the Mullard. The OLD Telefunken looking one, not the newer silver plate, which I did not like.

I've read that that Ei can be microphonic, but the ones I have seem to be fine.

I sold an amp recently, and it might've had my Groove Tube Ei's in it. I'll have to check to see it I can find them in my stash. But I have enough real Mullards to fit my AC30 clone, so it's not that much of an issue.

I also have some Mullard EL84 that are waiting to go in.
