And, the spin continues.....of course!
I'm aware of many of the items you listed....so what? I don't see how all
these are "liberal" spins. And, are you saying more conservative media
have never spun stories in such ways? That would be a very funny claim,
of course--they're some of the worst!
Let's face it--the current state of the various media SUCKS right now.
There is no one doing "real" investigative journalism any more, because it
costs too much money. News departments are chopping their experienced
staff, and hiring wet nosed kids, fresh out of college. Or, in some
cases....kids with no journalism degree, at all!
(Our local CBS affiliate looks like a high school journalism class!)
I know a lot of people in the business who honestly try to do a good job
of balanced reporting. Not everyone has an agenda, as you might think.
There *are* good reporters out there, but you have to look for them.
It's also funny that you consider all major media to be "liberal."
When GWB was still in office, the media was running scared--afraid to
report news regarding his antics. If they did, they would be attacked and
discredited. Or, if they worked for a big news corporation---often owned
by fat republicans, they were told to write stories favorable to GWB.
I know this to be true. Even at the local level--one of our local TV
stations told their staff to *only* write stories favorable to GWB. If
they couldn't do it, they were told...just don't write anything, at all.
One of my friends quit the station over that policy, because he refused to
How is that liberal?!?!?!
So, instad of biased news, etc., you just got nothing at all. If it was
bad, it simply wasn't covered. This is *especially* true, regarding the
various corruption in that administration. Only toward the end of their
run....a few outlets got a little brave and started covering some of the
issues...and others joined in, too.
But even so, only the very surface has even been scratched! There is so
much more we'll never know about, because the media were afraid to
cover....it's scary and sad.
GWB's administration had the media by the balls....and they squeezed
hard. Hell, they're still scared to do any real reporting....(if they
even still have the resources)
See, folks like you *assume* you know what you're talking about, based on
the crap being spewn by a few loudmouths. Unless you actually work in the
businiess and associate with the people writing and producing the news,
you can't know the real truth--behind the scenes. Sorry....
In my day job, I work with a staff of reporters every single day. I help
produce stuff every single day. I am involved and know what it's really
like to work in the news business...every single day. I'm coming up on 25
years in the business.
I thought not. Not one day in the news business, but yet, you have all
I don't have all the answers....but I'm a hell of a lot more "clued in",
than you'll ever be.
By the way....Rather failed in that he didn't make sure his staff properly
checked sources. He did not intentionally use false docs....it was an
error (or, they were duped!). And besides...the information in those
documents has mostly been shown to be true. Only the documents themselves
were mostly faked.
So....yes, there were mistakes made, which cost him his job. Personally,
I think there's more to that story, most of which we'll never know. I
think he was set up...
