Actually, far upstate New
York's "North Country"
23rd district has been
represented by a GOPer
for *well over a century*
-- nearly 120 years! It
took the combined talents
of ex-Gov. Milfy
McSnowshoe, "He's sure a"
Dick Armey, Glenn Beck,
and most of AM talk radio
to lose it to a Dem.

As for the Republicans
who managed to win,
Chris Christy isn't a
"conservative movement"
guy and Bob McDonnell won
by pretty much pretending
he isn't a "conservative
movement" guy. Iow, the
party does better when it
ignores its right wing
and the radio talkers --
but will they learn that
lesson? I doubt it....
