Being English means being part of an ethnic group so of course it

You want to show that the population shares a specific genetic
inheritance, and thus that there is an "indigenous" ethnicity. So
you only test the DNA of people who you have already decided are an
indigenous ethnic group. If you cherry pick the DNA samples, of
course you can get the results that you're looking for.

Land - be it the Schleswig-Holstein region or jolly olde England,
does not have a DNA. People do, but as Les keeps pointing out,
people move.


And they move into and out of islands a whole lot.

One thing that seems to have been neglected in this entire discussion:
they intermingle, breed.
