It's the same as it is with mint condition instruments from the 60s. Why has this gorgeous strat not been played? If there is a reason - "owner died, forgotten in a warehouse" ok, otherwise propably a dud.

In respect to guitars, get a real worn out, but still working or repairable player - there's a reason for all the battle scars.


I totally agree. From my experiences on buying equipment/instruments on ebay, the ones that are cosmetically rough have always been good to me. They've been through alot of gigs, and whatever else, but the sellers wouldn't have been using the equipment if it didn't sound right.
