LOL, current customer, Willy?
Like I'd ever buy a tube from that
fascist wanker? I can get them
from the same suppliers and if
Wilbur ever managed to have a monopoly
on tubes, I'd switch to solid state.
I figured maybe you ordered something from him in the ancient past before you two became such pals online and he wants to use that to needle you. But then again Willy is entirely capable of just making up shit, secret consultants for the Denver PD Anti-Commie-Hippie Squad do live in a shadowy world of deception. ;~)
Ok, I bought one thingy from him - a 9 pin and 7 pin tube
pin straightener. Shortly after that I noticed Antique Electronics
had them. BTW, before I'd switch to solid state, I'd switch to
acoustic guitar repairs after giving it some thought overnight.

I'm pretty much done with toobs for no reason to do with anybody's polyticks.

2008 A.D. was the year solid state caught up at least for me, if you count top end off the shelf state of the art DSP &
D/A converters as "solid state".

AxeFX.

It's all in the programming and sound source data extraction.

I've had my share of nice tube amps over the years, maybe
more than my share and they're all gone except the pictures.

The last of the herd before the final purge...

Now I have a shallow 6 space rack with two empty spaces
that I can pick up and carry for a reasonable distance.

No more lumping heavy items.

No more complaints from the neighbors in the next county.

No more wondering "Now *how TF* did I have all those knobs set before to get that sound?"

No more wondering what let the majik smoke out and how will
I source another 50 year old transformer or speaker.

No more $400.00 retube jobs.

No more aircraft carrier sized pedalboard.

No more batteries.

The Axe isn't for everyone, but it sure solved a lot of
problems for me.

*VERY* Cool. I'm looking forward to it as my next GAS attack-
it'll still be around in a couple of years- :-) M
