73-4 Vibrolux Reverb Problem

A guy sent me a Vibrolux Reverb 73-4 year model SF and his complaint
was that it would be playing at some given volume level and for no
reason the volume would go real loud. I tried to get it to reproduce
in the shop but didn't get it. I documented all of the voltages and
intend to check all of the compponent values. The tubes checked out
alright. Any suggestions to look for or other problems this amp may
have? Thanks
