I did my Pro Rreverb about 7 years ago with GG and it still looks
pristine new.

rub too hard, it gets too shiny (careful on faceplates). The way I use
it on tolex is mainly as a cleaner and it's blotted off with damp
towels and not allowed to dry (as you would on the tub surround ;o).
Then the tolex is towel-dried. Comes out very non-slippery and
new-looking.
Do ya have to order it from the maker? I've never noticed it.

Meguiars #40 is easy to get and it's not slippery either.Well, not like Armor-All (butter-finger juice), that's for sure, but
still more so than the GG, IMHO. I like it because it cleans

I had a V4 (V2?) in on the bench that was great on the outside, but in
the (thankfully) distant past had been used as a maternity ward for

there was a leg sticking out somewhere...

has solvents and crystalline silica, which is why I cut it with H20,
and blot it off after brushing it into the cracks. It can polish
metal when used full-strength, and most tolex isn't shiny when new, so
you need to be careful not to buff this stuff (per the package
instructions).
Meguiars #40 is definitely good stuff (sunscreen, too!), but it's more
of a treatment than a cleaner. That would be the Meguiars #39. GG
does both very well. The amp in the PhotoBucket link was done with
only the GG. Maybe it's just me, but the #40 feels "filmy".
