Hi,
I think this OPT is dead. Its from a TSL 100, 4 x EL34.
Input primaries read 16 ohms each.
Output windings read close to zero.
1 volt AC 400Hz injected across the 16ohm output taps gives 5 volts across
each primary tap.
What should this turns ratio be?
Cheers,
Gareth.
1 VAC across the 16 ohm tap gives 5 volts across each primary tap - so
10 VAC plate to plate. This 10:1 turns ratio gives a 100:1 impedance
ratio (square it), so primary impedance 1600 ohms. The Phillips
datasheet gives 3400 ohms as the plate-to-plate load for 2 EL34's in
class AB, so for 4 EL34s it'd be 1700 ohms. So almost exactly what it
ought to be.
