Unless you're layering sealbark noises over stolen tracks,
this is one killer deal - charts, *original recordings*, MIDI
files, BIAB files, a transpose function (yay!), the charts are
printable, etc. Posers and no-blowers will have no need
for this...but real players will recognize this for what it is.
And it's *cheap* - less than $72 delivered. I have one on
the way; a hands-on report will follow in a couple of weeks
or so.
Useful for some, perhaps. I prefer to create my own backing tracks.
That's not what it's for, junior.
It's a FAKE BOOK. With original recordings. And other
useful stuff. Of course, if one cannot *read*, well...
I know what a fake book is and what the "real" book is (p.s...they're
two different things). As I said earlier, I understand why it's useful
for some (primarily jazzers). And yes, I can read standard notation and
tab.
But I'm a R&R, rock, and pop kind of guy. The paradigm is a bit
different; people tend to learn songs by ear. I can probably rattle off
the chord changes to as many songs as that software has; it's just a
different set of songs. Just about anything that had significant radio
play on popular music stations in the last 45 years is in my head, son.
So if I want to create a recording, I just play the parts. All of them.
And if someone wants me to sit in, I get a list of songs and keys and
listen to the few I don't know and I'm where I wanna be.
