So what? Is there some law that says only the US
can economically destroy countries, invade and/
or bomb them, etc.? After the Soviet Union's fall,
there has been no effective check on US bullying
that I can see.

They want to be a superpower, and as far as I
recall when there were two superpowers nobody
mistook them for anything but enemies.

So are they our enemy, or not?
I always got the impression that it was useful for
both countries - the rulers of both coutries, rather -
to hold up the other as The Evil Enemy.

Not anyone's friend really, they invaded their
own client state Vietnam not so many years
ago just to make a point about who is boss.

Good thing we've never done anything like that.

You're right, we haven't. Well, maybe Panama.

Several South American countries. Plus, we
scorched-earth the hell out of South Viet Nam,
which we were ostensibly "protecting".
