How does the left rationionlize the fraud at ACORN and Obama's
connections to it with regards to?:
1) Obama represented ACORN in a lawsuit against the state of Illinois.
2) Obama ran a voter registration project in Chicago affiliated with
ACORN in the past.
3) Obama's presidential campaign indirectly paid ACORN $800k for
campaign work this year.
I haven't come to any conclusions yet but I'm curious what others
think, left and right, but, I think I already know what the right
thinks.

As a loose association of groups of locally-based community activists,
ACORN's weakness is controlling what actions are carried out under its
name.
Recent revelations indicate that a different management approach is
needed.
That being said, I don't think that there's anything inherently bad
about ACORN. It's been a favorite target of the right for years.
Most of what you list above is pretty old and has nothing to do with the
present situation. To me it's yet another irrelevant attempt to smear
Obama with his past associations.
Overall, efforts associated with Democrats have met with resistance from
Republicans.
From the Democrats' perspective, Republicans are trying to suppressvoter registration numbers because they fear an additional advantage for
the Democrats come election time. And yes, there is some truth to the
Dem's view in that respect.
From the Republican perspective, the Democrats' efforts to increasevoter registration are laden with fraud. And yes, there's some truth to
that too.
This kind of back and forth has been going on for decades. ACORN is
simply the latest pawn in the game.
I don't think any of this will have a major role in the outcome of the
election.
