I've got a Philco transformer that I'm unsure about and maybe you can helpOr filament and bias supply tranny
unravel the mystery? It is a black enclosed transformer, not very large, two
hole mount. Numbers are 32-10125-2 and X5157027. One side has two wires,
turquoise & blue/white 1.4 ohms. The other side has two pairs, separate
windings: black & white 27.9 ohms and Yellow & Orange 3.1 ohms. There was a
large value fuse soldered to the white wire, but I can't find its amp
rating.
I did a bit of limited testing. Input on the turquoise & blue/white, under
load, was 5.3vac. Output on the black & white was 87.4vac and on the yellow
& orange was 22.9vac.
Let's assume the black and white are the primary. The fuse is the hint,
here. I felt the 27.9 ohms across that winding is low and suggests it is
rated for maybe 30VA. I suppose that's consistent with its size. Based on
the above test, 117vac in would give output (without a load) of 7.1vac on
the turq & blue/wh and 27.1vac on the yellow & orange.
This sounds to me like a filament transformer with one 6.3v output and one
25.4v output. Does this sound reasonable?
Thanks.
