Kerry, You have both your amp and your computer (sound card) hooked
together through your AB switcher? That would cause problems if the
paths are not isolated via transformer.

But why do you need the AB box? Plug into your amp. Mic the amp. Feed
the mic into your sound card.

Yes, the damage control
has a Wallwart, but I'm not sure about the ground pin. My problem is I
have never understood "grounds"

Both the amp and your computer are plugged into wall sockets. They are
also plugged into your A/B box where their grounds presumably connect
together. I doubt that the wallwart has a ground pin or is part of the
problem.

If you really need the parallel direct feed, you'll need to isolate
one of the grounded units from the other with an iso transformer.

You may want to buffer the signal, depending on where you hook in the
transformer. If you're using the computer's built-in sound card,
you're not getting real hi fidelity anyway, and you'll still have some
residual induced noise from proximity of digital signals in your
computer.
