Since common sense already seems to be an endangered species perhaps we
won't miss the others.

Yeah, I miss that thing known as common sense, but I don't want to miss
rock and roll. I'd like to think it's here to stay.

Look at the conservative heritage -
squareheads banning black music, rock & roll with vinyl record
burnings or breakings and calling it devil music.

You mean like when Tipper Gore was all on fire to keep the kiddies from
hearing records with nasty lyrics? Yeah, those conservatives, you really
gotta watch out for them.

At least she wasn't attempting censorship. All she proposed was
a rating system for parental guidance.

Once the
media is monopolized, censorship will be rampant. It's
already happening. Clear Channel refused to play Dixie Chicks
music because of their lead singer's criticism of Bush and his
hard-on for invading Iraq for one example.

It's a privately owned network, they can play what they want, or refuse to
play what they don't want.

But it's *our* public airwaves! And the Dixie Chicks' music did not
contain anything political or offensive at the time. It was only a
comment the lead singer made in Europe that prompted the
small-minded machinations of a petty retaliation in the
form of censorship.

Would you want somebody coming into your shop and telling you which CD you
can have playing and which you can't?
My shop is private property. It's not public property.

No? Then who gets the right to tell CC what they will or will not play?

Listeners.

If some amp manufacturers continue in the trend of making
disposable shitboxes neocon corporate greed-style, you can
expect more pollution,

Actually traditional amp designs are now in danger in Europe due to the
lead in the solder, you know, nice liberal Europe. The same thing will
happen here sooner or later, solder will be in the same hazardous waste
category as batteries and fluorescent lights, you're going to need a
special permit to throw our your trash Ed.

Well, if it improves environmental conditions and promotes good health,
where's the downside other than a little inconvenience?

more extraction of natural resources,
other amp manufacturers joining in for that bottom line profit
motive thereby cheapening the quality of all amps. (Easier for
them to slap together by machine but more of a pain in the ass
to work on or cheaper to replace than have repaired)

You mean exactly the same as TVs and stereos and radios and everything
else with electronics in it?

Yes. And also more expensive to repair than to replace.

Not only that, all schools and colleges
will be dropping music classes, art classes and music appreciation
classes because they will be considered unnecessary in a
permanent time of national emergency of terrorism threats and budget
cuts. Electricity will be too valuable to waste on using playing
amplified music.

Most of the music I like sounds pretty good on acoustic instruments
anyway.

Does that mean you would like to see less music classes, art classes
and no more art and music appreciation classes?

The art of playing music will only be for select
few who will only be allowed to play patriotic songs with wind
instruments during National Hate Week.

Yeah, for sure, you nailed that one, can't argue with that. Is it still
going to be the first week of June?

It already started. I believe it was January 20, 1980 - Raybum's
first term accompanied by Newty Stinkwitch and Rash Lump***,
the initiators of Americans hating other Americans.
