I've got a Boogie F-30, but only play at home and it's really just too
much of a good thing. I'm looking for a low powered amp and so far the
best options seem to be Epi Valve Jr., Black Heart, and Gibson LP Jr.
I'd like something 5 watts or less if possible.
Those of you who have experience with any of these I'd appreciated your
observations. Also, anything else you would recommend? Budget is
$300-$600. Could go for more for the right amp. Don't want to build and
would prefer to buy new.
Thanks.
Look for a used Kalamazoo Model #1 on eBay and buy it.
Thanks for all the responses. You guys have give me much to ponder, which
is what I was hoping for. Someone mentioned the Fender Champ 600 reissue.
I love the sound of 6V6 tubes, but never really considered this amp because
of the 6" speaker. For those of you who are familiar with this amp, how's
the bass response from such a small speaker? Also, on Fender's website it
says there's a external speaker out, but don't indicate what impedance it
can drive. 8-16 Ohms I would imagine. Also, is the line out an extension
or does it disconnect the internal speaker when used. One last thing about
this amp. On HC everyone say's their built in China, but I could have swore
when I looked at this amp that it said made in the U.S. on the back. Can
anyone confirm this?
Thanks again.
