Folks - This may be way out there, but I have some 'guitar / amp

I am a guitar / amp collector.  It excites me to find rare pieces,
which occupies most of my time and interest in the guitar field.  Some
people like cars, I like guitars and amps.

The problem I have is ... once I find that piece, I put the guitar in
a closet, and move on to the next tough piece to find, much like an
archeologist, looking for bones.

I learned that my interest in collecting has superceded my interest in
playing guitars.

Now, I am at a crossroads, because I have lots of guitars that I don't
play, hardly have room for, that I can obviously sell, but would be
right back to square one.

Anyone else feeling the dilemma?  Any feedback (again, besides the
flames I know this type of post will generate)?

I never considered myself a collector, but like you I spent more time
looking for the next great deal and then subsequently acquiring and
selling gear than I did playing.

I never lost interest in playing, but my time was severely curtailed.

Even for the vintage collector, everyone MUST feel a little bit of
this, no?

Most folks who play guitar amplified go thru something like this...
it's been termed GAS - Gear (or Guitar) Acqusition Syndrome :)-
