to anyone that has played both a non-cascaded and cascaded 2204, what exactly is the difference? Does it just give the amp more gain?

I owned a 1980 Park 50 watt head that had the channels cascaded and a master volume added. If you plugged into the far right input jacks you were playing through both channels with more gain than normal and you could control the amount of gain with each volume control (I just turned them all the way up) and then with the master volume knob. But if you plugged into the left input jacks the amp acted and sounded like a regular Marshall master volume amp, or you could crank the master all the way up and use the regular volume control like a non master Marshall head.

Good to see a non-sales post!

Was this the amp that has an odd footswitch option? I'm trying to remember details, because it's just a schematic that I might use to finish a mod that I'm using. But it seems to me that you plug the guitar into the footswitch itself (and it plugs into the amp, of course).

My Park was just like the 50 watt non master Marshall of the day. No footswitch.

A friend of mine bought a 100 Marshall with this mod done to it. I had another friend do the same mod to my amp. It sounded good. I later had a amp tech tell me he wouldn't have done the mod like that because it was too out of control. I was like whatever.. It sounds good and I don't need a pedal in front of the amp.

That amp doesn't sound as good as any of my Egnater stuff I have now though.
