What you *can* do (and probably should do) isMan, I really donät know how to read those schematics, but it sounds like a
open up the amp and rewire the heaters on the
preamp tubes only. They are currently wired
with the heater leads soldered to pins 4 and 5
respectively. Move one wire to pin 9 (remove
the wire to ground if it has one) and jumper
pins 4 and 5 with the other wire. That's all
you need to do. Of course, once you do this
you cannot use the 6n2p anymore. But you can
use any 12AX7 you like.
job I could do if I could just picture it properly.
So I should move either 4 OR 5 to pin 9, which in turn is just disconnected
if it has a wire to disconnect? And the disconnected wire goes nowhere then?
And then just bridge the 4 and 5 together? Did I understand correctly?
Thanks a lot for helping out - if it's that simple I could certainly try to
convince the seller we could do the conversion before the sale...!

Dee
it. Maybe you should just offer a lowball price on it as it is "odd"
and do your own mods making records of changes so if it doesn't work
out you could unmod it and sell it on Ebay to the next guy. Odd stuff
doesn't make for a sound investment to me...but I miss stuff on Ebay
all the time because it gets out of my affordable range. I just let it
go if that happens...C'ya..next!
