sob...snifff....douglas and william no like me or my purchase of a
mogami platinum 12ft. cable...wah....me just go play guitar through it
tonight...sob...wah...sniffffffff...ewww- douglas? william? why you
plop a smelly on everything? ack ack ack ack...so, fellas, what's your
opinion abouthttp://www.musicgadgets.net/2006/09/04/mogami-platinum-series-cable/
?

So, while on the Mogami site, I decided to revisit the page that started the letter to Mogami thing.

Mostly to see if any of the text had been changed.

http://www.mogamicable.com/news/Oct2006_01.html

In addition to the technological advantages of the cable itself, the new Mogami Platinum Series
instrument cable carries the added benefit of using Neutruk's NP2C-AU-SILENT connector on the end
that physically connects to the guitar (designated by a red jacket). Unlike other silent connectors
utilizing a basic mechanical on/off switch, the Neutrik plug uses a reed switch. This reed switch
contains a magnetic contact that is hermetically sealed in glass inside a capsule. Because of this
isolated, air-free environment, there is no chance of arcing when a connection is made. Without
arcing, there's no wear, no pitting of the contacts and, hence, none of the scraping back and forth
that a normal switching contact encounters. Bottom line, there is no pop, and this silent connector
has a rated life expectancy of 1 million connections.

Well, it doesn't look like it has.

Not likely to either.

The reason is because the subject in the paragraph is the switch only. Which is followed by a
description of the features and benefits in using that switch. Which, points to the *over kill* in
the application of that switch for use in an audio cable.

That text is not likely to change.

I sure the Mogami people must find the musician marketplace most amusing at times.
