Well, I *still* try to avoid it, and often do. But it is very true that often, you cannot do it. Try buying a computer, car, camera... that has no chinese components or labor. And if you're on a budget? Forget it, the need for food and rent outweighs the evils of shopping at Wallmart.
IF more people tried it in the beginning of this massive transfer of US wealth to China, we might not be in the position that we are today. Virtually borrowing money from China to pay for a war in Iraq when skilled U.S. laborers end up having to say "ya want fries with that?"
