This just happened about 10 minutes ago and I am wondering what it could
be. Started making what I thought was feedback but the tone was constant
and didn't matter if all the volumes were off. Just a constant low volume
low whistling sound that was at a steady tone not warbling or changing.
Didn't stop until I put it in standby. Turned it back on and it's back
again!
Any ideas?
Cool thanks for the advice guys. I am not exactly familiar with T-shooting
tube amp issues. I think it did have something to do with the reverb
because I noticed that there was very little reverb while this was going
on even with the reverb cranked. I smacked the side of the amp a good one
and after the crashing sound, the reverb came back and the noise
disappeared and hasn't come back since. I am going to re-seat all the
tubes and maybe clean the contacts too. The tubes in it look fairly new
and they are all JJ's.
Grind your reverb tank connections... all four ends.
Bet one's dirty or loose.
