How 'bout that.

Now, let's hear it for biofuels! Biofuels take more petroleum to produce
than they replace; the environmental impact of methanol is *huge*,
because of water pollution caused by fertilizer (nitrate) run-off. Enormous
quantities of water are required to produce the crops. Methanol doesn't
lend itself easily to pipeline transport, and must be trucked to where
it's needed. Add this to the fact that methanol is produced from
FOOD - it is beyond stoooopid to burn food in vehicles. Finding a
crop that is inedible, requires little care, little or no fertilizer and
small amounts of water - in other words, a WEED of some sort -
is what is needed to make biofuels viable.

My solution is much more simple: harness the output of various
enviro-windbags like Algore to wind turbines. I figure it will take
Algore about three hundred years to spew enough gas to make
up for all the pollution he's caused with his private jets, huge
houses, etc. Of course, he buys Carbon Indulgences - from
himself, figure that one out - to make up for it. Yeah, Algore
sure did rate that Peace Prize, eh? I mean, screw that old
Polish broad who saved thousands of Jewish kids from the
Nazis. Hell, she's only 97, they'll get around to her next year.
Maybe we should spell it a bit differently, to better reflect the
uses the recipients will put it to. Yeah, that's the ticket - the
Nobel Piece Prise, used for carving a larger piece of the
Global Warming Hustle Pie out of John Q. Public.

Aside from the bio fuel stuff, waste cooking oil can be filtered and
run directly in most diesel engines with a separate heated oil tank
and heated fuel line and tank switch from diesel to oil - start up and
get engine heated on diesel then shut it down on diesel to make it
easy to start the next time you wanna drive it..some folks boil it
over a wood fire to make sure the water is gone and make it easier to
filter...store it in an old propane tank..might eat some of the seals
faster but is real low costs...big problem with it for weed heads is
it smells like french frys - gives 'em the munchies
