From what i have seen and experienced, most amps have an effects loop.
Every amp that i have owned has had one, yet i have never used it.
What are the benefits of using it with my pedals?
In-amp effect loops are best when they are of the "parallel" type,
meaning you can blend dry/wet signals with a post-effect mixer. I
dont see much point for an in-amp serial effect loop because you can
always put the effect in front.
One advantage of serial fx loops is putting the send into the return
and getting more gain. You lose the capability to put your chorus
or delay there, but for some gigs it sounds good.
When I bought my Quiana years ago, Paul Rivera himself even suggested
shunting the (serial) fx loop for added gain.
Btw, I know its subjective, but imo, chorus and delay sound *much*
better in the loop than in front.

God. I dinosaur out at rig in front of two old classic amps. When
recording, my big extravaganza is tweaking through the board with an
Alesis Nanoverb. Also, I never underestimate the value of cleaning up
the power supply in front of the rig and amps, (best solutions come
from Oneac, using a low impedence isolated transformer instead of
cheapo MOV's to filter -result; only .5v spike gets through common
mode [neutral and ground or line and ground] and nmt 10v normal mode
[neutral and line]...KILLS noise from the wall forward) AND using an
excellent DI box like the Radial ProD2 (stereo direct box). mvm
