Bernie,
Good stuff, there. And I was down with ya til I found you
were ripping people off. Bad vibe, son. Remember that
when it happens to you and you're all pissed off about it.
I know, "everybody does it" and "nobody cares". Yeah, nobody
but the guy gettin jacked.
You'd be way cooler in my book if you played that part straight.

???
what are you talking about
no seriously
"running a cracked version of Cubase"
What, not ok with plagiarism, but this is OK? Theft is theft.
maybe if recording software wasn't ridiculously out of our budget we'd
be more willing to pay for it
plagiarism constitutes stealing the ideas or concepts of others, not
their property. if i could pay for cubase, i would, but since i can't
(and it IS admittedly very overpriced [around $800....] ) i don't
really have any issue taking it from Steinberg.
I'll offer you 170 pesos for everything you own...please either accept
my offer or post your address and phone number so I can call to see if
you are home and if not come rob your house...because IMHO. 170 pesos
is all it is worth and since you want more I have no problem juest
robbing your crib.....MMM
OH P.S. you old farts. I will crack any software if I don't make money
with it. Come to think of it. Steinberg make way enough cash with all
those big studios using their software. If I record my stuff in my
appartment and have fun with it, why would I pay 1K$ for the sake of
USING a program when in fact i'm only LEARNING to use it.
If I were not a student and had lots of money like you old farts,
maybe I'd pay. Stealing something from an individual is VERY different
IMHO. I never stole anything but I cracked a bunch of software before
buying them.
Try before you buy is a great idea. It's just that what you describe is
illegal. You find a friend who owns it so you can try it. Many publishers
offer free trial downloads (don't know about cubase) to address this issue.
Call me an OF, but I don't want to see someone in a position where they can
be fined or worse. When you get a rap ***, it follows you around. I've
seen people who were otherwise great candidates get shut out of a job when
the background check came through with some sort of blemish, even when it
was a decade old or more. This is a matter of character judgment. It is
just as easy to hire a great candidate who is unblemished and the perceived
risk is considerably less for the employer. You're not thinking this
though. Then, of course, there are issues of moral standards, for which you
must be your own judge.
The cracking groups are there for one reason: Try before you buy. And
since about no shops I know about accepts refunds (ie only
exchanges) , well I'll stay with that mentality. If you use it all
life long without buying it, you're a ***.
This is just wrong headed, IMO. Find another way that's legal. You are
rationalizing, and it won't hold up when you get caught. "Honestly,
officer, I was just trying the gun to see if it shoots people dead....you
know, try before you buy." I know this glib example is upsurd, but it
raises the question as to where one appropriately draws the line and who is
empowered to decide. Well? When you get to court, you can't redraw the
line that someone else already drew and condified in the laws of the state.
Thanks for listening.
I'll never go to court for that reason. Now stop whining. Nobody will
come at my house to check if my Cubase is legit or not. I'm not
running a biz dammit.
Give me 1K and I'll buy it. 30 days is still not enough to learn a
software.
re- Posted just to change the subject
i dont try and make money off of anything that i use cubase to make
Doesn't matter. If you didn't pay for it you're a thief plain and
simple. I steal my neighbours car, or a car off the lot for that
matter. it doesn't matter if I'm using it to make money.
People worked hard and long to come up with that software and deserve
to be paid accordingly.
