Pedals have been used by Jimi Hendrix, Ed Van Halen, Eric Clapton, and

There is no "best way" to anything, except making a fool a of yourself
and saying "the best way is my newbie way" like the above poster.

Put your money into whatever you like, limiting yourself to just your
amp is limiting yourself, period.
