I don't know about you....but I smell something fishy, regarding events
involving the USA, the UK and Iran. We all know there has been much
sabre rattling on all sides. GWB has been doing his best to rattle and
provoke...and it looks like Blair may be in on it, too...with the goal
of getting another war started and making Iran look like the aggressor.
Consider---
We've been in Iran (covertly) for some time now...doing who know's
what? What we *do* know, is that we've been flying drones into Iran for
months and we've had small teams gathering intel on potential targets.
We've started arresting Iranian's in Iraq. While not surprising, it is
a recent change that may be significant. (why *now* and not before?)
We've moved a 2 carrier battle group to the area---a significant (and
very provacative) force! The "war games" in the area aren't helping,
either!
New's was "leaked" a while back that Isreal may be preparing to attack
Iran (though later denied). No doubt, another method of increasing
pressure though.
And now, the 15 British sailors who were arrested for violating Iranian
territory. The British claim they were NOT in Iranian waters, but in an
area that has long been disputed and "claimed" by Iran. Only the
British and Iranians know the full and true details here. But, let's
just suppose that the British are telling the truth. Fine.
So...wouldn't it still be very risky to intentionally send British
sailors into this disputed area, knowing full well that it could cause
trouble? It's happened before, so it should come as NO surprise.
Unless....it was *hoped* that Iran would take some kind of action. Pull
it off right, and you've got Americans and British alike, all calling
for action against Iran. Maybe they can even get other contries to join
in, too?
And now finally...Russian intel claims to have learned that American and
maybe British forces have been planning an April attack, all along.
What we've been seeing, is the slow build-up in provocation and
forces---leading to WAR.
All we're waiting for...is for Iran to do something that will give us an
excuse to attack. (cruise missle strike???)
My fear is that GWB is going to do whatever it takes to get us into a
war with Iran before he leaves office. The signs are everywhere, if you
look.
I really hope I'm wrong. Really. But recent events are *very* scary to
anyone paying attention. Don't you think?
I would predict that a war with Iran would likely end up involving other
countries in the middle east, uniting against the USA and anyone else
who sides with us. It could turn into a major regional war that would
require more from us, than we ever imagined....including resuming a
draft. It could be another world war!
And for what? To maintain US influence in the region....or....OIL....a
resource that will run out (likely) during the lifetimes of those who
are fighting over it.
Please tell me I'm wrong?!?!?! I have one son who's already at draft
age and another not far off.
Oil is a *lousy* thing to die for.
