No doubt about it. I'd rather hear SRV than a lot of the other
performers of his day. Hell, I'd rather hear KWS than a lot of the
performers of today.

I'm especially fond of SRV and The Black Crowes not only because I really enjoy their music but because around the same time they helped revive blues and rock n' roll respectively. Whether we especially care for these artists or not we still should recognize that they helped swing much of the public taste away from the musical equivalent of junk food and back to a more nutritious diet.

Just woke up this morning, and the news was doing a story about
Britney Spears going to a hair place, and wanting her head shaved.
And the girl who does hair wouldn't do it, but while she was talking
to Security, Britney grabs the shears and start buzzing off all her
hair. Now there's a dull nail for you.

Equally amazing, is what is considered "news" today. After the evening news, they've been running a new 'Anna Nicole Smith' show... titled 'Entertainment Tonight'... SHEESH..! ! ! !

I don't know which is more pathetic, that pop-tart's decline as her former teen virgin-slut image recedes into history and she doesn't know what to do with her life, or the so-called news media's insistence on covering the process in gory detail. Lot's of real news out there, but every network is airing interviews with some salon's owner about how BS shaved her own head, talk about the decline of western civilization.

I'm only wondering what the 'discusion' sounds like in the major network news rooms... "..well, let's see, where do we put in the Britney story...?? Before Iraq, or after Autism Breakthrough piece..??"

It's not really fair to compare SRV to shit that rose to the top.
He's above that. I just don't think he did anything ground breaking.

Well, unless you consider reintroducing America to the blues as innovative, and in a way it was.
