I was wondering if anyone has published detailed instructions on
building a Fender champ like amp?

I don't mean to be flip, but there are probably less than 30 parts in a
Champ. Follow the layout diagram. Work from one end to the other.
It's a few hours work, maybe a day for someone who lacks experience.
If you cut the chassis from a blank, add a couple of hours.

If you want to build an amp with an instruction book, build a Gilmore
Jr.

the gilmore has one preamp the champ has two? 30 parts is actually quite
a few parts for some of us. i'm special ed

Pretty much that's right. The Champ uses both sections of the 12AX7 for
gain stages. The Glimore Jr.has only one gain stage and the other
section of the 12AX7 is the phase inverter.

i can get some help on the champ from a guy here in austin but i was
wondering if there is a kit similar to the champ with or without detailed
instructions. where the chassis is drilled out and all the parts
assembled.

i don't mean assembled. i mean packaged together ready for assembly with
schematics
