for some reason the kids were discussing the power of bombs Vs the
power of nature, ie whether a hurricane or a volcano packed more
destructive energy than a nuclear blast or an airplane crashing into a
building. Whether man can ever muster up the same kind of destructive
power as nature. This lead to wondering if the energy that took down
the twin towers was less powerful than the energy that destroyed New
Orleans. Which then lead wondering to how much energy has been put
into the response to each disaster. One one hand you have the sacrifice
of thousands of lives and billions of dollars and on the other you have
? and whether or not these responses were in scale to each disaster.
