"The model 230 Hickok was an attempt to provide a low cost tester to the hobbyist in the waning days of tube equipment. One of the last tube testers offered by Hickok in 1975 (the other two were the 6000A and the 539C making the latter the tube tester longest in continuous production). However the 230 is a far cry from a 539. Though it is a solid state dynamic emissions tester the keyword is "emissions" since reading is Bad-?-Good. Switches are very limited with five knobs and ten two-position slide switches."
