Hi!
I have an old Quad preamp from MESA and about a month ago I changed all of
its 8 preamp tubes (12AX7) - they are all brand new. I could get only
Svetlanas but the dealer said it's the best (at least here, in Hungary).
Anyway, I used Svetlanas before in other amps and I think they aren't too
bad.
Now I see, as I'm tweaking my pre, that the two channels (Channel 1 &
Channel 2) have very different levels. While channel 1's MASTER (now
speaking only of the rhythm sound of the channels) are set to 3, channel
is set to 10 and it is still quieter.
Is there any solution for this problem that I can try? Thanks a lot,
cheers

Swap the preamp tubes around and see if it makes a change. I know they are
new but that doesn't mean they can't be bad out of the box.
with one of his old, known-good tubes.
There are eight tubes arranged
in two rows. With the rear of
the preamp closest to you the
three to sub out (that will affect
CH2) will be in the front row,
starting at the right side.
