Re: OT - Republicans kill increase in minimum wage

On 21 Jun 2006 11:52:25 -0700, "oasysco" <wilderkommen@xxxxxxxxx> did
courageously avow:

But the amendment was agreed to per the website with 52 YEA's and 46
NAY's! So, what's the fuss?

Plus, is posting all this stuff a wise use of usenet bandwidth?

There's the rub Greg. Is 'any' posting on Usenet worth the alleged
waste of bandwidth, excepting one's own items of earth shattering
import.

Remember, there are servers out there that have to store all this
nonnsense.

Text compresses rather easily and is stored as easily. I can think of
bigger wastes of bandwidth than the tripe that passes here disguised
as troll bait, fact, or learned opinion. I doubt anyone really treats
Usenet as a canonical source of anything.

Ultimately, we all pay for it and that means less money for
social welfare programs, medicare for the elderly, starving kids in
Africa, medical care for the poor, research studies on global warming,

Since when did you don the coat of the compassionate conservative?
Methinks, rather, that you are serving up a fine plate of red herring.
