I've only been in guitar center about 2 minutes

Thats about how much time it takes me to park,
walk and go directy to the old junk corner of trade in
section, peek at what they have and walk out.

GC is opening a new store nearby, going after the
Daddy's chain, I guess. The nearest GC chain store
is about 30 miles away, in the back they always have
a few 'interesting' vintage amps, nothing even worth
what they ask, but there for 'candy'. They also hang
vintage guitars waaayyy up high, and it takes pulling
teeth to get someone to talk about them, let alone
show them. They had a nice OLD 345 way up there, I
was interested, but was told..and I quote the exact words:

"..Those are only for people buying...not looking.."

I laughed, pulled out the wad (about 60)'c' D/Pres's
I had, and asked if this was enough. WOW, did his eyes
water, and he went away, grabbed a ladder, and while he
was climbing up there, I told another salesman that when
he gets down, I left because of his treatment towards me.

I mentioned this on a guitar site, and was emailed back,
agreeing about GC, and telling me they wanted almost $8k
for that guitar, and when this person saw it, he ??? the
neck being repaired. Thanks Ian, if u read this.

Best Buy is rumored to be developing a MI section for their
stores..what's next, Wal-Mart selling Martin D-45s?

Maybe... the local Wall-mart here had LOTS of guitar stuff for sale at Christmas time... and why not..??? If I saw a Martin D-45 in a Wall-mart at a heavy discount, ***.. I might buy one..! ! ! !

I'll spend the extra $$ to deal with REAL music stores B4
I even attempt to deal with the chains. If I need something
basic, new, etc, I'll go Internet. Buy vintage from the experts,
support REAL music stores. Or else, all we'll have is GC's

Totally agreed... let the "kids" and wannabees cruize GC and buy 90% of the schlock that's hangin on the walls...
