Treble Middle Bass.

For those who don't need Trem.

More than that, think of it as a mini-plexi. The TMB channel's tone
stack is driven by a cathode follower stage. REALLY gutzy. Hard to
believe it's only 18W.

I just finished one myself. You may want to use Mojotone's Heyboer 18W
output transformer in place of the chinese one Ted provides. Also if you
do a 2-10, depending on how you play, you may want to consider using
ceramic speakers. The alnicos tend to give a fizzy breakup when WAY
overdriven. If played with just moderate overdrive, they sound
gorgeous, though.

If you go ahead with this, contact me off list about some other issues I
ran up against.

Hi Mike,
Actually, I was looking at Weber as a resource for the drawings and to
see if I might want to do the project. In my ususal fashion, I'll
probably source used iron where I have found I can save money and get
high quality. Sometimes it takes two tries, but even so, it's way cheaper
than a Heyboer or MM..

I've got a line on the proper turret board and now it's making my palms
itch.

I'll be in touch if I go ahead, but no way will I do it at Weber's price.
I'm way too cheap for that! Thanks for the offer. It's very generous of
you.

Yes, a 2x10 with TMB sounds nice

Regards,
Phil

I have good luck with Ceriatone at www.ceriatone.com . They make awesome
turret boards and their kits have Sprague, Orange Drop, and Mallory caps.
They do their own transformers in house, but like some of you I prefer to
get good used stock.

I bought the board tonight on eBay. I sense a roller coaster comming my
way. I'll have to source parts now. I might have trannies here and might
not. I've got a nice Stancor OT rated at 18W ;~} PP, universal type with
multiple taps and should be good with EL84's. I've got a matched pair of
Telefunken EL84's (used). I think I've got a power tranny 260-0-260, but
unsure of filament capacity on it and maybe only a 6.3v winding. Plenty of
6EU7's in stock here (ha! instead of 12AX7's). I might even have enough
sockets. Gotta take inventory.

I need a chassis. It would be nice to build as a combo, but will likely end
up as a head. Dunno just yet. I predict it will be 6 months before I get
to the project. An inexpensive but not "cheap" chassis will be the biggest
challenge.
