Gretsch / Valco 6150 speaker

I just need to know the proper impedance of an 8 inch speaker in a
Gretsch 6150 amp. It currently houses an EV Wolverine 8 Ohm speaker.
Besides the fact that the EV buzzes at high volumes, it's way too
bright, I believe it is designed to be full range. I know there are
many replacement options, but I just can't find the correct impedence
in all of my searches.
