Most all have a maple top. The thickness may vary through the years. You can some times see inside
the pickup cavity the glue seam with a strong light. You can even scrape the paint in there to
check for sure.

Most LP Customs have a maple necks under their paint too. Check under the truss rod cover for the
color of the wood with a little scrape of the razor. This will tell you what you have.
