Hi,
the new chinese 6l6s are nice tubes. Some refer to them as "TAD"; they
*look* almost like GEs or Sylvanias; construction looks quite
convincing,
and the old shuguang 6l6 was a nice cheap tube and I´ve used it alot of
times with almost no failures.

The JJ 6L6 is a tough tube and reliable

The Svet 6L6 sounds nice but tends tu go microphonic

The Sovtek 5881 is *very* robust, but some guys don´t like the sound of
it.
It does not fit the standard bear trap tube retainers of a fender.

Sorry, no expirience with the "new" TungSols yet

I´m not sure whether the 6L6WXT/EH is really different from the 5881;

Stay away from the "old" Sino 6l6s (slim bottle/coke bottle; silver
flashing at the bottem of the tube) They are often branded as Golden
Dragon.

12AX7:
Golden Dragon/Sino: IMO a good tube; many amps of the 80s have been
designed around it
Sovtek 12AX7WA: Rugged, but sterile
Svetlana: forget it
EI: IMO a very good tube with high gain, but many of them tend to be
really microphonic
JJ: Neutral sounding, but my personal favorite
New TungSol: Raves about it, I have not tried it

12AT7: Golden Dragon, EI or JJ
