Re: Top postRe: OT - Vast left-wing conspiracy gets Tom Delay :-)

China's plan is to blow up a nuke in the atmosphere, to take out all
electronics. Then attack.

This would be dumb. They don't have to attack.

There's better ways to take out electronics than nucular. (sic)

But we're talking about Communist thinking.

We're talking about your thinking. You don't know what they actually
believe anymore than youKNOW what I believe or John Roberts believes.

They actually believe it will work. Electromagnetic pulse<< fries
electronics. Tell us in your infinite wisdom & experience, what besides
"that"
will take out electric grids, electric appliances, communications,
etc.etc.etc. fast enough to keep the U.S from unleashing everything we have
on them???

Well I once witnesses a mylar balloon - the kind sold in florist shops
and grocery store get wedged in some powser lines and shut down the
power in a small city for a rdius of 15 miles. Then just for spot I
guess you could release tons of tinsel over an urban grid.

But this idea of ultimate nuke snow is something only North Korea or
some nut worried about his bodily fluids would atually do. Ther are
much easier ways to take over the world Pinky.

Actually, he's not that far off. Any country could pull this off and potentially cause major problems for us.

The Russian military, for example, has admitted to developing a nuclear weapon for this specific purpose.

Such a weapon would be very large and would arrive over the USA via a missile (land or sea launched). Detonated high above the ground, there would be very little damage on the ground. However, a *single* weapon could take out any and all non-hardened electronics, across the entire U.S. mainland.

Everything!!

That's not tin hat thinking. It's reality.

How long do you think we'd last without:

communications
transportation
electricity
water purification

Think about that. Every single thing we depend on for our daily lives and even, our survival, relies on microchips. Your phone, car, trucks, tractors, furnace, etc.

A single weapon would fry those chips in less than one second.

How long do you think it would take us to recover? Really.

Basically, in only weeks, we would be in no position to mount any kind of real defense to *any* country that should wish to invade. Our population would be starving, because with no transportation, we can't move food.

Nasty picture, for sure. I hope, this is a long shot from reality....and that it never happens. But, the technical reality is that it is *very* possible. Right now.

Further...imagine what a small weapon, smuggled into the country and flown over a city like New York (in a private plane) could do. You wouldn't see the nationwide destruction of electronics, but you could sure take out the whole city....and then some!

If the terrorist was lucky enough to have an actual EMF pulse weapon, he/she might take out a large part of the northeast region.

I'm certainly not a tin hat conspiracy nut, either. This stuff is very real. I saw a lecture on this issue a few months ago that got my attention....big time. Anyone familiar with electronics knows that nuclear/EMF pulses are lethal to transistors/chips. The eye opening part was the realization that countries have weapons designed for this purpose, with countries like the USA in mind.

We depend on technology for our survival. Take out that technology--totally, and you cripple us.

Now, would be a good time to have a lot of friends in the world, rather than enemies. Because, it's those friendships that will deter anyone from trying this. And, if they should try and succeed, we're going to need all the friends we can get!

Clearly....we are on the *wrong* track, with regard to making friends...
