I attended school in Alberta in the Separate School system in
Edmonton. It was priests and penguins all the way. That included
Catechism first subject every morning for the first two or three
years. Catholics schools in Alberta will always have religious
teaching.

Nah, we know a few of our Prime Ministers were drunks or just plain
weird. You don't get the hero worship drummed into you here like you
do in the U.S. And yet it was always claimed it was the Commies doing
the brainwashing. George Washington never told a lie, a bit hard to
swallow don't you think. Take the eagle. It is not so much a bird of
prey as it is a bird of opportunity in its natural environment and
would rather dine on rotting salmon than actually hunt anything. I
kind of like Ben Franklin's idea of having the wild turkey as the
national bird. That animal truly lives by its own wits as anyone who
has hunted it will know.
