You need to find a newsreader that actually keeps the posts that you
already downloaded, so that you don't have to access them on the
server every time. Either that or figure out how to get Mozilla to
keep them for you.
Mozilla works well for email by now, but it's not such a hot
newsreader IMO.
My Agent newsreader hangs onto posts for about a month, and then
flushes them.

64th notes on bass?
I try not to think about speed. Playing fast is the easy part. Doing
it well is a lot harder though.
One of the hardest things to do well is play slow though. Almost
nobody can do that well because people tend to hide the fact that they
don't have anything interesting to play, behind playing fast.
I don't intentionally do those oddball timing things you're talking
about. Too Zappa-esque. I've been accused of playing Jazz, but
nobody's been able to prove anything.
